Covenants, Promises, and Faith
The more we are surrounded within the religious community, the more we find ourselves being looked upon by other members of our faith or beliefs. Many say that it is easy to always keep your promises and covenants, but when hit in our weak spot it can become very challenging. But it is very possible to over come our burdens and feel of our Savior's love and go through with our covenants and promises that we have made.
It is hard to look through the eyes of the sinner, when we are selves place ourselves above them. Not even realizing that we are at the same level as they.

It can be extremely hard to go through a serious difficulty in life and everyone around you is at the appearance of doing great in life. Same sex attraction is a growing difficulty in the world today. With so many people saying one thing and others saying another it can be hard to understand why God has declared that a man marry a woman and not two of the same genders marrying each other. For years marriage has been defined and upheld with one man and one woman. But as culture changes and so do our challenges, many more people face the challenge of being attracted to the same sex. In the Old testament, proverbs chapter twenty-five verse twenty-seven it says, “…so for men to search their own glory is not glory.” In other words, when we seek to meet our own desires and satisfactions, we are unable to feel peace in our life and receive great blessings from God.
Believing without seeing is a great challenge but when looking at the basics of faith, one can actually understand and have greater faith in what they cannot see. For example, we do not see the wind blowing, but we see its effects when the tree leaves are blown across the street or a slight chill is felt when one steps out of their home on a windy day. Faith is seen after our acts of faith have been performed. Just like after we see the winds affect on the things around us, we can also feel and see the affects of God’s love through our faith.

In the Book of Mormon, in the book of Ether chapter twelve verse seven it says, “For it was by faith that Christ showed himself unto our fathers…wherefore, it must needs be that some had faith in him, for he showed himself not unto the world”. Christ blesses those who believe because those who don’t will make any excuse to say that He wasn’t who He said He was.
Sister Linda K. Burton, relief society general president said, “The best way to strengthen a home is to keep covenants, promises we’ve made to each other and to God.” Marriage is a covenant with God. Marriage was established as an ordinance when God placed Adam and Eve into this world. He established such promises between a man, a woman, and Himself. If such covenant is kept, like Sister Burton mentioned above, will strengthen the home and also influence the lives of all others whom such family comes into contact with. Don’t take my word for it but pray and ask God himself if it be right. In Moroni chapter ten verse four says, “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not tree...”. If God is real, he will answer your prayers if you truly desire the true answer and you are willing to change if the answer is received. If you receive an answer, then God does live and the Covenant and promise of a marriage between a man and woman is true and is everlasting.
